Four Steps to Getting You're Song Produced.
Step One - Submit your Song(s).
Simply click "songSubmit", provide a few details (Song name, Genre, Comments), copy/paste a link from your favourite music sharing site, then click Submit. Although optional, filling out the "Comments" box is going to greatly improve your chances at getting a producer. That's it! Your song will then be available in the "songListings" section.
Now you wait. Other members of the ProduceMe Network can view your song submission. When they decide to produce your song you will receive a message via Email and the ProduceMe notification system. Once you and the other ProduceMe member are on the same page, it's decision time. You can either "Accept" or "Decline" the offer by going to the "notifications" page in your "Account" area, or going to the "Song Info" page by clicking on the song's name anywhere on ProduceMe.
This step can be both simple and complex, depending on the song and its current state. The producer should be bringing some ideas to the table now (instrument choice, song arrangement, melody etc.). Simply make the changes he/she recommends, then provide a link to the song containing these updates. Then repeat.
Easy eh? Well yes, but a producer should be challenging you to dig in and really work the song, directing it to the standards you both agreed upon from the beginning. Once you and the producer feel the song has reached that standard mentioned before, it is time to wrap it up and "Close the Listing." You can close a listing by going to the "mySongs" section and clicking the "Manage Listing" icon associated with the song. Simply choose the "Close" option and write a little bit about how you think the song turned out.
The other option is to "Re-List." This is made available for the unlikely chance that you wish to get the song produced by another member of the ProduceMe Nework. Choose the "Re-List" option, fill in a small reason for the re-list and click submit. Producing A Song.
Step One - Find A Song.
The "songListings" section will display all songs that are "Available" to be produced. Click on the song name to get detailed information about a song submission.
Once you have found a song you would like to produce, simply click "Become Producer" to send an offer to the person who submitted the song. It is recommended that you think a little bit about how you would direct this song before sending the offer. The clarity of the message you send along with the offer is important in getting the musician to see themselves working with you. You will receive a notification and an email via the email address you provided during registration with their accept or decline decision.
As the producer, it is a must to do your best at finding and then working WITH the musician's vision of the song. This shouldn't be too hard given that this is the song you chose to produce. Based off the type of song and who the musician is marketing, the song will tell you what it needs. The challenge is getting this across to the owner of the song.
Hopefully the song owner is happy with the final result and they will "Close" the listing, earning you one credit.
